The Royal Greens Golf & Country Club is being designed by Dave Sampson of European Golf Design. It will be a stimulating test of golf with significant undulation, water features and a steady breeze coming off the Red Sea. The length ranges from just over 5,000 yards from the front tees, to just under 7,000 yards from the back tees, and is currently in a soft opening phase, with a Grand Opening planned for Q1 2018. The Club lies at the centre of the Golf Communities in Al Murooj covering 120 hectares of lush green land. There will be five communities offering 970 plots and villas. The golf course itself will cover approximately 100 hectares of land with the addition of a stylish grand 10,000m2 clubhouse and a golf academy located at the multi-faceted practice facility. The Club forms part of a total development area of 173 km2. King Abdullah Economic City is located along the coast of the Red Sea, around 100 km north of Jeddah, the commercial hub of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The city will also be approximately an hour and 20 minutes away from the holy Islamic city of Mecca and 3 hours from Medina by car and an hour away from all Middle Eastern capital cities by plane. When complete the resort city will have 25,000 hotel rooms in approximately 100 hotels. This course is highly anticipated and is the fourth green golf course and expected to set a new standard for excellence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
